The only thing in life that is constant is change. We are continually changing everyday whether we choose to or not. Our circumstances change, our friends change, we change our clothes, we change the channel, etc. I personally like change. There have only been two circumstances that I did not want changed- a certain group of friends and my dad. My friendship circle fell apart a few years ago when we moved into separate directions- they wanted children, we did not. My dad passed away two years ago. Other than that, I think change is a good thing- it keeps you on your toes. I love the book “Who Moved my Cheese.” It is the perfect example of why change is necessary. We cannot become complacent in our comfort zones- no good can come from it.
So in my newest business endeavor, Dee Dee Style, I want to try my best to stay alert on trends, color, design, etc. Therefore, I am always playing. Always developing a new idea, a new concept. So this is the story of how my jewelry is evolving. I am very set on the fact that I must use a vintage button, at least one, in each of my designs. Now I am adding other vintage pieces into the mix. Here is an example of a ring that I handcrafted.
Step One: Old Clip Earring
Step Two: add button and ring base, then Voila’ you have a Dee Dee Style button ring!
