I love fall! Well, I love the changing of seasons, any season. It is always so refreshing and energizing. I love the chance to wear new clothes that have not been worn in months. I love football games. I love pumpkin pie. I love the new colors that emerge from God’s paint brush- burnt orange, rusty red, earthy brown, and glorious golds. I love how a new season gives me the sense that all things are new and fresh and possible. I had a friend tell me once that fall is back to school season and a fresh start for all. That is what I love about January too- a fresh new start. I need these fresh new starts- whether to the year in January, or the fall in September, or every week with a Monday.
A fresh new start means endless possibilities. Sometimes we all need a new perspective or a new attitude. Being an interior decorator, I am able to help a client see a room in a new fresh perspective. They have been looking at the same old box over and over again, day in and day out. But to me, it is brand new and I see beyond the limits of four simple walls- Oh the possibilities! It is the same thing in my new business, Dee Dee Style, I saw a simple ordinary everyday object, a button, in a whole new way, an extraordinary way. It is amazing the possiblities when we simply grasp a new attitude, a new perspective or a new season.
Here is a great example, while shopping at Old Navy I found this cute tank that was embellished with a tulle flower. To me it was a blank canvas just waiting for buttons to be addd to make it extraordinary. So here are the before and after photos.
